Ingredients
Ingredients for the Biscuits
2 cups gluten-free 1:1 flour
1/4 cup almond flour
1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
3 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons canola oil
1 large egg
3/4 cup milk
For the Sausage
Choose precooked turkey sausage that can be heated right before you make your sausage biscuit.
For the Cheese
Choose a slice of your favorite cheese. Cheddar is shown in the photo above.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the flours, sugar, baking powder, and cream of tartar in a bowl. Add the butter and oil to the dry ingredients and stir. The mixture will have small lumps of butter.
Use a fork to combine the egg and milk. Pour the liquid into the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms. Pat the dough out on a floured board or table, and use a water glass to cut the dough into circles. Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until the biscuits are golden on the edges. Makes 12 large biscuits.
Slice the cooled biscuits in half diagonally. Add the cooked sausage and a slice of cheese. Enjoy!
